Maki Nishikino is one of the main characters in the anime and manga Love Live! School Idol Project. She is a member of the school idol group µ's (Muse) and is their composer. Maki comes from a highly reputable and wealthy family marked by doctors and hospital ownership. Birthday: April 19.

- She was in a panic when Honoka Kousaka embraced her willingly to softly blow into her ear.[4]
- After finishing singing while playing the piano in the school's music room, she startled when realizing someone had seen her, indicated by the sudden applause. It was Honoka. She entered the music room and impulsively expressed her admiration and gave compliments, springing a proposal that Maki become an idol with her and the rest. However, this backfired as Maki became further embarrassed and brushed her off, hastily leaving.[5]

Upon realizing this when Nozomi points it out and the remaining girls giggle, Maki cries out in embarrassment and throws a last pillow at Nozomi.
- With an encouraging smile from Nozomi, Maki blushes and thanks Eli for the rule.
- One evening, while she was peeking on the second-year's practice, she shrieked when Nozomi Toujou suddenly groped her breasts.
- She went out her way to help Hanayo Koizumi practice her vocals after noticing her distracted state in class, most in part due to thinking about µ's.[7]
- Following immediately after, Rin shows up to lead Hanayo to the second-years to join µ's, grabbing her by the hand. To the others' surprise, Maki grabs the other hand, insisting to take her there herself.
